VIVA LAS VEGAS – Day 6

227533_10151230133806005_2072547347_n

Today the team would have to play in the early evening hours, not so much heat but hot none the less!  Their first match would start just after the last pro match ended on the center court.  As luck would have it the NPPL would not be broadcasting the webcast after the last pro match, meaning fans at home could not find out what was going on.  Their first game was against Wicken – WIN!  The next game would be against Max’d Kidz it would end against the team with a complete loss with no bodies left – LOSS.  Last game of the day would be against the Tsunami. It would be a tough match but the guys pulled it off and WON!

After the games ended the team waiting patiently to see if they would make the Sunday club.  They did not.  They missed the top 4  by a margin of 22 points.  The last team going into the finals would be High Octane, a team they had beaten earlier in the day. High Octane like the factory team only had 4 wins but in this 7 man format bodies and hangs count more than wins at times. The team would end the event with 403 total points.

The event may be over for the team but there was one important thing left to do, Charly had yet to get married to Lorena!  We are still awaiting that score :)

VIVA LAS VEGAS – Day 5

Today would be the magic day of the start of pre-lims.  The guys were up and at the field by 6am due to their early morning games.  Five pre-lim games before 9am.  They would get to play in the cool of the Las Vegas hot days.  The team dropped first match to Camp Pendelton Raiders 2 then won over Hawiian Heat, Wicked then lost to Tombstone and Arsenal Kidz.  Their bracket held 3 of the top 4 teams in the division.  HyBrid Foto would hand Wicked their only loss of the day as well as to Hawiian Heat.

Five games were over then it was back to the mansion.  Emelie would upload pics back to HyBrid headquarters and the guys filled in Ami and Mats on how it went.  Several decided to give the pool a go.  Once everyone was relaxed and showered it was time to hit the strip for a bit of sightseeing.  Tomorrows final 3 games of the pre-lims would start in the late afternoon.  They would be playing on center court after the last pro games were over.

All in for the WIN!

VIVA LAS VEGAS! Day 4

IMG_1384

Thursday morning started with a team breakfast meeting with Ami & Mats via Skype to go over how practices went and how they felt about the upcoming matches on Friday.  What paintballer’s breakfast would not be complete without marker maintance :) Today would be a day of taking it easy, going over game plans and of course registering for the event. But first things first out to watch the pro’s practice at VXP.  Houston Heat and Infamous were booked in at VXP to begin a bit of practice before Friday’s event.  The guys were able to watch to see how the other teams were closing down the snake side, something that was troubling them in practice.

Later in the afternoon it would be time to go register and pick up their ROF chips for their markers. Each team was presented with a wooden engraved plaque for partipation for this event.  This was also an opportunity for the guys to finally meet Ed Poorman, someone who had helped them a great deal to make their Vegas dream come true.  As a token of appriciation from the team, Mats & Ami and Anthrax Paintball Customs, Ed was presented with his very own HyBrid Foto Factory Vegas edition jersey complete with his name and historic number 15 on the back.  Each team member plus Ami & Mats had signed the jersey.

The crew were some of the first few to hit the vendors as they set up.  Stops by the TRADEMYGUN and HK Army were something that no paintballer could miss.  After all the paintball tournament tasks were completed it was out to dinner then bed early since their first game was at 7:15AM!!

VIVA HYBRID VEGAS – Day 3

Wedensday would begin with a Skype call from Ami and Mats (they could not join the team in Vegas) to see how things were going. After breakfast the team headed out once more to practice.  Today one of the teams at VXP played against the guys. Once more the temperatures soared into the upper 90′sF and would effect the team. However the marched on and take hit after hit learning the field.  When the day of practice was over the captains would know exactly who would play where and with a few adjustments.  Today the final schedules came out and the team would learn that they would play 5 matches before 10am, with the first one at 7:14am

7:14am Camp Pendelton Raiders 2
7:42am Hawiian Heat
8:17am Wicked
8:31am Tombstone
8:59am Arsenal Kidz

Saturday

16:59 High Octane

17:27 Max’d Kidz

18:23 Tsunami

With several hours practice over with the team packed up and headed back to the house for showers and a dip in the pool that came with the house.  Several members of the team went out for the evening for a bit of sightseeing.  One of the highlights was the Goretorium (http://goretorium.com/).

Tomorrow would be filled with registration, getting guns ROF chipped, strategy sessions and a bit of rest before the early morning matches began.

VIVA HYBRID VEGAS – Day 2

With everyone arrived safe and sound and checked into the HyBrid Mansion it was time to get down to business. The team made plans for Tuesday’s practice and then got some MUCH needed sleep.  Tuesday morning came and everyone was awake early due to jetlag, but that didnt stop them!  They headed out o Vegas Xtreme Paintball for a day of grinding and figuring out who would play were and work on some drills.  Due to the lack of teams the guys had the facility to themselves for the entire day. With the temperatures reaching into the high 90′s F the team would face a great challenge with playing and dealing with the heat.

Vegas Xtreme Paintball is the premier place to play paintball with full regulation PSP and NPPL field (down the inch) fields with premium turf as well as a fully stocked store.  It was like heaven to the guys.

After a long day’s practice the guys headed back to the house to shower, do a quick recap of the days practice results and head out for dinner. Wedensday would be another hard day of grinding trying to get the team to gel more than already has it had come together.

Thank you Chris at Vegas Xtreme Paintball for all the help you gave the team today!
